Refresh and try again. And Deveraux did her research – she cleverly slips in descriptions of castles and weapons and clothing, but never in a boring or pedantic way. I am glad I took the leap and look forward to reading the next book in the Montgomery series. Here come the part that I say you “I like it this book or not.
Would you like us to take another look at this review? Deveraux manages to evoke a strong and convincing atmosphere for each of her books, but her dialogue and characters are as familiar as a modern-day soap opera’s.

As it is, the thing I remember most is that the Black Lyon is not shy about abusin I’d been meaning to read this series for-evah, as Jude Deveraux tops a lot of lists for Historical Romance favorites.

To me, it felt like the story unfolded over weeks, but instead it was a year. They were well written though and weren’t cliched villains which was appreciated. I’m pretty sure that was rape, but I somehow overlooked it. This story takes the reader on some wide swings from wedding night rape to a loving lon attentive husband though he remains arrogant to the end.
I marked this book into my rape shelf, Ranulf H does say himself that he raped Lyonene h but I didn’t think it was rape. Hate to say that, but it’s true, and I’m guessing that means that I should have read these books a very long deverajx ago like most people.
Then there would be a period when all is flowing good and then it happens again! He devveraux her horrible and shows her no love or tenderness in his return all because of remembering his previous marriage that deeraux and hardened his heart.
So much jealousy, so many misunderstandings, such weak-minded characters The Girl from Summer Hill. The title should be at least 4 characters long.

The Black Lyon is a joy from start to finish. Now only the fierce Black Lyon cansave her—for he alone has thecourage to destroy the ruthlessplot threatening to shatterthe bond of love theLyon and his ladyvowed would neverbe broken. How their love triumphs will appeal to all lovers of romance. My freaking brain is fried from all of their drama but at the same time I enjoyed reading it! Both were insanely jealous and insecure- and thought that got cumbersome at one point- still the tender love scenes made up for it.
