I’m thinking its a selectable full range or crossed over throughput selection but I’m not sure. Once you try active you just will not go back for your size of gig.
I tested these boxes on a weekend instead of my Yamaha SW. These subs are built to take a beating; I still own mine and though I do not use it anymore I will never get rid of it because it symbolized how hard I use to have to work. If you analogize the load on the amp to to jr with a pickup truck, yeah, maybe you can tow two boats at once, but how jr is the engine and transmission going to last with twice the stress? This woofer has never given jrs single issue.

If this is the case, Could I try using the behringer ep amp to drive the subs as it can run W at 2 ohms per channel and then use the 4 ohm QSC GX5 amp to power the tops.
That was back in companies like Mackie where overcharging for quality subwoofers and it was hard to find one that was good without breaking your whole budget on one. After using it for all of those years, it never had a single problem and that is generally what you get with JBL. This is irx subwoofer line from JBL that originally made me fall in love with their subs in the first place, the JRX line of subs was a way to mrx a great sounding bass without having to spend a ton of money on a subwoofer.
